彖传 · Tuan Zhuan Commentary
未济亨，柔得中也。小狐汔济，濡其尾，无攸利，不续终也。虽不当位，刚柔应也。
Before Completion: Success, because the yielding obtains the center. The little fox nearly crosses but gets its tail wet - nothing is favorable. Not continuing to the end. Although not in proper positions, firm and yielding correspond.

未济卦为最后一卦，象征事未完成。小狐过河湿尾，功亏一篑。但阴阳相应，仍有希望，循环往复。
Wei Ji is the final hexagram, symbolizing incompletion. The little fox wets its tail crossing - falling short at the last moment. Yet yin and yang correspond, hope remains, and the cycle continues.

Fire over water: The image of the condition before transition. Thus the superior man is careful in the differentiation of things, so that each finds its place.

Perseverance brings good fortune. No remorse. The light of the superior man is true. Good fortune.

There is drinking of wine in genuine confidence. No blame. But if one wets his head, he loses it, in truth.
